The Kitchen, the Ambulance and the Jackhammer (audio lesson)

A few days ago I had a fun little experience with my youngest daughter. It took place in the kitchen and it involves one of those OH SO COMMON situations where your kid gets a bump or a bang, and starts crying.

Here’s how I dealt with it:

although you can learn it, I find that you are either born to this or not.
    Parents loosen up….enjoy your kids!
    Practise the” art of observence”
The years fly by so don’t lose these very special moments!

    I love your ideas
I bought your cds a few years ago and enjoy listening over and over
    All the best

Thanks Miriam! You’re completely correct. The years fly by. We need to have fun with our kids. Just a simple thing but how many hours do we waste reading email when we should be playing with our kids!

    Hi Chris,
I’m not sure if I’ve managed to hear the whole lesson here, it seems to end in a strange place? I can only get 51 seconds and got the impression you’d be saying more about how you actually distracted your 4yo. I only get to hear you say to use distraction, and you mean total distraction….
    Thanks for checking!

I just checked it again … seems to work fine for me. Anyone else having this problem?
